Mom of the year and neck tattoo enthusiast Jessica here tossed her two small children in “trunk” of her friend’s red Corvette and proceeded to drive around Hanover, PA. on July 10th. I’m not sure what model ‘Vette it was so the tots could have only been under the hatch but regardless that isn’t exactly the safest place in a accident. Thankfully no one was hurt and charges have been filed.

First thing I thought of was her friend probably got some ratty C4 and wanted to take her out for a spin in hopes for Netflix and chill.

The other day I saw a guy in a polaris slingshot that had his daughter in the front seat of it and she had to be no more than 4 years old. Then last week I saw another polaris slingshot where a guy had his two kids seat belted into the passenger seat. Add that to the large amount of people I see who let their kids run around the back of their car not belted in every day and you come to the conclusion that people shouldn’t procreate

She seems pretty pleased with herself. Frankly, as the father of a 3 and 5 year old I freak the crap out if the car seat straps aren’t straining mercilessly against the force of the seat foam pushing back...so the idea of just tossin’em in thare doesn’t sit well with me one bit.

Someone paid a lot of money for that smile, though. Braces, whitening... Hamster would be proud.

I have a pretty awesome memory of riding in the back of a C5 Vette my Aunt bought when she took my father and I out for a drive down through some Orange groves. It was so cool to have all that visibility out the back window as we cruised around.

If it was a C5 I can certainly see from first hand experience how a kid would fit back there.

As a guy who spent his entire childhood rolling around in the back of a station wagon, I can’t get too worked up about this. On the other hand, my own kids get strapped in like we’re on a roller coaster at Six Flags.

Is it bad if I want to know what Corvette it was? A C5-C7 hatchback wouldn’t be too bad, really. A C5 FRC/Z06 wouldn’t be too good. A C4-C7 convertible would be bad. A C4 is a little worse than a newer hatchback. Any older one, I don’t think is likely.

Same exuberant smile in all of her many mug shots.

My first and only ride in a Corvette was under the glass hatch of my friend’s dad’s brand new 1978, when the glass bubble hatch was introduced. I was 5. No law enforcement entanglements were warranted.
